![]() So I decided to give the Mac version a shot. Dragon Age runs fine on the MBP with the Graphics Detail set to High and Graphics Textures set to High, AA set to 0.I'm at my wife's mother's for Christmas and I can't find my DA DVD in all of the chaos. When I game away from home I run XP on a 2.6 GHz MBP with a 512 MB 8600GT card. I'm reasonably sure there was a statement on the Dragon Age forums at some point to the effect of: A Windows licence is a Windows license and a Mac licence is a Mac license. At least though I hope they realize they're leaving money on the table, "cross grades" aren't a radical new concept and could be useful for them. Most likely there will be two different companies, and we'll see a "Oh no, we can't deal with that ABC owns the rights we just port" from one and then "Oh no we can't deal with that, all Mac issues are up to XYZ" from the other. I will, although I'm not feeling optimistic - View image here:. I’m having a lot of fun playing through it right now, and I expect someone will figure out how to install community modules manually if it’s not been done already (I haven’t looked into it). Some should eventually show up here as well.Edit: The DLC/mod thing is the only issue I have with the port. Comparisons with the PC version show a distinct advantage with textures, plus the additional camera view not available on the consoles. Specifically the textures look like absolute crap. I play the 360 version and the graphics are.lacking. The program to manually install mods is also not included, so installing mods made with the PC toolkit may prove difficult as well.quote:Originally posted by Abulia:I'd be interested in seeing screenshots. The big negative with the Mac OS X port is it not compatible with the official DLC (beyond what you get with the DD edition). ![]() I can run it at 1920×1080 with the textures maxed (on a late-2009 21.5″ iMac), but I had to turn graphics detail down to medium (and fights were still lagging when I cast Flame Burst). ![]()
